The Cure to All Ills Is...

... tree frog slime!  According to this article in the New York Times, a tribe in Brazil plans to go public with their ritual salve. And the best part of this natural remedy is that they don't even need to kill the frog to get it -- they tie it up and scrape the slime off its skin, then let it go. Kickass!

ABC Gets Lost

A few months ago, the TFB (Tree Frog Blog) wrote about ABC's genius in publishing a book written by one of Oceanic Flight 815's doomed passengers.

They've one-upped themselves, proving in this latest release that "Lost" was a grand experiment from the get-go:  "Lost" is now a worldwide interactive internet game.

ABC is the only television network poised to make the leap from the Old Advertising Model (:30 ads between TV shows) to the New Advertising Model (product placement within an immersive game).  They deserve major kudos for understanding where entertainment is going.

BusinessWeek Book Roundup

Here's an encouraging BusinessWeek article about the success of small niche presses. So inspiring, it's enough to make a Frog want to run out and start her own publishing company.

(The Frog's niche? Poetry, long short-stories averaging 6,000 words, and the literary ghost story.)
